NEW CHAMPION FROM INDONESIA
Tri Joko Rubiyanto, a graphic designer from Indonesia has won the world champion IPAD application design held in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Mirage, Las Vegas,USA on last 11-14 October 2010. This achievement proved that despite his living in a developing country, Tri Joko Rubiyanto can improve his talent and expertise well.
Tri Joko Rubiyanto, in the virtual world known as Djackmania, is a graduate of Electrical Engineering Department of ITS (a state university In Surabaya, Mid Java. He works in an advertising agency office in Pancoran, South Jakarta. The man who was born in Ngawi, East Java 34 years ago, succeeded in becoming the champion in Studio 2010 Top Coder Open (TCO), the world’s tournament of computer programming and creative design. Jack scooped a prize of USD 200 thousand (approximately USD1.8 billion rupiahs at the exchange rate USD 1 = Rp 9,000).
The competition has been followed by thousands of participants from around the world.Initially, the participants were selected online for four months. They must collect some points of each design they submit. After passing the selection, 14 people will be brought to the semifinals and final.
Jack competes with the semifinalists and finalists from several countries, among them, Venezuela, Philippines, India, Hongkong, Australia, Denmark, as well as three colleagues from Indonesia. However, the jury finally selected Jack’ work as a champion in that competition.
